Athletes You Do Not Want to Trash Talk

For eleven months, Milorad Cavic waited to race Michael Phelps in a top notch international competition. The last time the two met in the 100-meter butterfly, Phelps barely inched over Cavic at the very end to help secure his record 8th gold medal in the Beijing Olympics. Fastforward to the summer of 2009 in Rome. The World Championships now provide the stage for the two to once again go after eachother. Actually, it's a chance at revenge for Cavic. He hasn't stopped complaining and claiming he deserves the gold saying how he did not touch the pad hard enough for the sensor to go off and declare him the Olympic winner at that event. In the day leading up to their rematch, Cavic kept yapping about Phelps and the swimsuit controversy. What actually happened in the pool on saturday? Well... Phelps wore an inferior Speedo suit and broke 50 seconds. Cavic also broke 50 seconds, but in .13seconds more than Phelps. Oops, guess all the trash talking didn't work out for Cavic who witnessed his rival set a new world record. The bottom line is this: no matter how cocky you are, how good you may be, you never trash talk those athletes who are all time greats. Here are other notable athletes that should never be trash talked before a competition:

Kobe Bryant - we all saw the guy's determination in the playoffs, it's ridiculous.
Tiger Woods - his B game is better than your A game, and he does not mess around.
Roger Federer - 15 major titles, and he wants more.
Rafa Nadal - he wishes he had as many titles as Fed, do not mess with him.
