We all know about the football game against the Golden Bears of Cal. However, the beauty of UCLA is that it has many other successful sports. Therefore, there is no reason to neglect those non-revenue sporting events. Here is a list of five games/series you should be on the lookout for this weekend.
1. Women's Soccer @ Cal, Stanford (Friday/Sunday): These are always festive match-ups, especially with Stanford playing the way they are right now. It will be a real test for the Bruin ladies on the road.
2. Men's Soccer v. Cal, Stanford (Friday/Sunday): Basically the same reasons as above. With the men's team, it will be interesting to see if they can finally win a game and not just settle for a tie.
3. Women's Volleyball @ UW, WSU (Friday/Saturday): The Huskies are always tough, and playing in Pullman is no cake-walk either. Will the team come out with the same fire for these games as they did for the rivalry game against U$C last weekend? Can they finally play up to their potential and not drop a game they should win? We shall see.
4. Men's Water Polo v. Cal (Friday): The only team to truly bother this Bruin team is Stanford. There was also a loss to rival U$C. Can the Bears immitate their own rival's results and beat the Bruins? The game will be at the new aquatic center on campus, which will surely make the atmosphere more festive.
5. Men's Volleyball @ Calgary (Friday/Saturday): The Bruins will tune-up for their spring season with a tournament in sunny (just kidding) Calgary this weekend. According to the official website, they will take on some borderline Canadian schools and will test out the ancient theory "if maple syrup really does help in sports". Time will tell.
